This Memorial Day let’s remember not only the pe This Memorial Day let’s remember not only the people who have died in combat but those who have died due to unaddressed mental health issues. 22 veterans complete suicide each day and only 15% of veterans in need of mental health treatment receive it. 15% of veterans have a substance use disorder. 1 in 3 veterans seeking substance abuse treatment also have PTSD.

I know everyone - myself included - has been strug I know everyone - myself included - has been struggling with the political and social upheaval of the last month of so. That’s on top of the grief, uncertainty, and loss that most of us have been feeling the last 2+ years. I have been changing some of my daily routine to help myself feel less anxious and overwhelmed so I wanted to share some of that with y’all in the next few posts. 
🌱 I stopped watching the news in February but I’ve also been spending less time on social media. 
🌱 I’ve been reading more and it’s also easier to focus without the urge to pick up my phone and check social media every few minute. 
🌱 Spending more time outside. In July and August it will be much less pleasant to be outside in Mississippi so I’m trying to enjoy as much of it as I can now!
