Relationship Conflict

Fighting with your partner disrupts every part of your life. It can be almost too painful when the person you love most causes you pain. Maybe the two of you just can’t seem to get on the same page or truly understand each other. You feel lonely even when your spouse is right next to you on the couch. What started off as a beautiful love story has turned into you feeling like nothing you do is right in their eyes – or maybe they say that they feel like nothing they do is good enough for you.

Can My Relationship Be Saved?

You may be starting to wonder if your relationship can be fixed. You might even have moments where you wish that you had never started it and you could just walk away. Maybe you’re conflicted and unsure whether or not to end it or stay. From past experience, you know that if you talk to family or friends they will hold things against your partner. You might forgive but your family and friends do not, reminding you of things in the past that you’ve forgotten. A therapist is someone who is not invested in your relationship. A professional is an impartial person whose goal is for you to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled whether you choose to stay in your relationship or end it. Therapy is a safe way to explore what you want without fearing it will be thrown in your face later on.

Fighting in relationships

Separation, Break-up, and Divorce

You or your spouse has asked for space. Perhaps you are staying in separate bedrooms or even separate homes. Or one or both of you have made the decision to end the relationship for good. Whether you were dating, living together, or married, the end of a relationship can feel like a devastating failure. You went into it hoping, believing that it would be forever and now your heart is crushed.

Whether you’ve decided to just take a break or if the relationship is over, you don’t have to navigate the pain and fear alone. Maybe you don’t know where to begin with picking up the pieces of your life. It’s ok to feel paralyzed, unable to move on, unsure what decisions to make.

Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning’s End

Alone does not have to mean lonely! I specialize in working with people who are healing from a breakup or processing the end of a relationship. Letting go and moving on can be difficult – at times it can feel impossible. Heartbreak can feel as debilitating as a physical illness. Even if you knew your relationship was not going to work out, even if you are the one that chose to end it, the pain can still be difficult to move through alone.

I want my clients to not just survive the end of their relationships but begin to thrive as they open a new chapter of their lives. I work with people to help them discover who they are after feeling they’ve lost themselves in a relationship, marriage, or family. I guide my clients to move through the grief of lost relationships with a strength they did not even realize that they had. Whether you were in a relationship that lasted many years or feel like you may be a “serial monogamist” always in a relationship and never staying single, therapy can help you learn to be happy even if you are alone.
